Why Beach Volleyball?

In 1996 at the Olympic Summer Games in Atlanta, Beach Volleyball hit the world stage. It was a fan favorite and has remained one the game's hottest sports in the Olympics. Since then women’s beach volleyball has exploded around the world. In 2010, the NCAA officially recognized beach volleyball as a collegiate sport and it has been expanding across the USA giving more scholarship opportunities to young women.

Today there are more than 90 colleges that offer beach volleyball programs, over 70 of them are Division I schools. Because beach volleyball has become an official NCAA sport, in Southern California high school teams have increased from 8 to 51 in a span of three years! This phenomena has shifted the focus of girls playing indoor volleyball, and many athletes are choosing to either play both sports or focus on Beach Volleyball exclusively. Either way, playing beach volleyball is a blast and will further the young players development.

The great thing about Beach Volleyball is that there is “No Bench in Beach Volleyball” giving athletes an opportunity to play 100% of the time in their games.

With a heart to help empower and educate youth, and support the Boise volleyball community, Alex and the Idaho Beach Volleyball team have combined their talents and expertise to launch Idaho Beach Volleyball Club. The club offers training and tournaments for juniors and adults, as well as summer adult leagues.
